Reminisces

27 Sep

Tonight I am sitting here remembering the very first Homeschooling Convention I went to with my parents. It was in 1986 (or 85?) at the Mabee Center in Tulsa. I was made to join in with the few other homeschool children attending with their parents and sing a song on stage for the attendees.

I am sitting here tonight trying to remember the words to that song. I think it was sung to the tune of “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” and went something like this:

“There’s no school like homeschool, no school I know.
Mom and dad they teach me all I need to know; to learn and grow, God told them so.
Now I hope that you will take a look and see the possibility
of teaching your own children in their home sweet home…”
